We'll take it slow - Zidan Asensio won't return

Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane plans to "take it slow" with Marco Asensio, but the midfielder will have a role this season.

With a 3–1 win over Iber on Sunday, Madrid was back in action, with Ascencio not being replaced.

The 24-year-old suffered a serious knee injury in the pre-season but is now available for Madrid, who has returned to rivals and league leaders Barcelona's two points.

Zidane does not plan to participate in the assemblies but said he would use Spain internationally.

“We are happy to have Marco back and we are taking it slow,” he said.

"We have a lot of players. Asensio is in a good position and I'm going to use it. I haven't been able to do that to this day, but other games are coming up and he should be ready like other players."

"I'm counting on him."

Madrid are back in action on Thursday with a clash with Valencia.
