Buhari Is The Main Railway Station After Johri.

President, Major General Muhammad Buhari (retd) approved the renaming of the railway station in Aberor, Delta State, as the Goodluck Jonathan Railway Station and Complex.

Transport Minister Rotimi Amaechi made the revelation while inspecting the Warri-Itek rail line on Saturday.

He said train fares would be doubled to prevent the spread of COVID-19 on railways, especially on the Abuja-Kaduna route.

The President's approval of the change of name of the railway station in Delta State was verified by the President's Senior Special Assistant, Leather Ogunlesi, on Twitter on Digital and New Media.

Ogunlesi said, "President Buhari has approved the naming of the railway complex at Abor, the operational hub of the Itke-Warri railway line, after former President Goodluck Ebel Jonathan."

Speaking to reporters during the inspection, Amechi said the Warri-Itakpe rail line was ready for use and would be commissioned by the President.

Buhari approved it and asked the Nigerian Railway Corporation to adequately maintain the facility after taking it from the contractors.

"It (Abor Station) was named after Gudlak Jonathan and approved by the President. Amber Station and Yard (former) President Jonathan.

The Minister expressed satisfaction over the quality of work done on the railway line.

"Both Julius Berger, CCEC and our team have done a good job. We will find out if the NRC did a good job when they handled it properly because of problem management.

"I do not want to come here for the next four or five years and it has deteriorated." I looked at the toilet facilities; They look good, but for one of us, I hope it stays intact for the next five years because those things look bad in Kubwa (Abuja) now. "

On the recommendation of rain services, Amechi said that physical difficulties would arise among the passengers in the coaches, which would indicate an increase in fares.

"This test run will take us to the drawing board and when cleared the first thing we will do is double the cost of transportation from Abuja to Kaduna," he said.
