Tamar Braxton has been hospitalized following a police response to a suicide attempt at her LA residence

The Grammy-nominated singer was rushed to a nearby hospital after the incident.

OS ANGELES - Grammy-nominated singer Tamar Braxton was hospitalized Thursday evening after police responded to a report of an overdose and suicide attempt at a residence in our sister station KABC, the tallest in Los Angeles.

Officers were called at 9:45 p.m. At the Ritz Carlton residence in the 900 blocks of Olympic Boulevard, a woman was found irresponsible and unconscious, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman said. He was taken to California Hospital Medical Center, about a mile from the skyscraper, and was listed in stable condition.

A source later confirmed to KBC that the woman who was admitted to the hospital was Braxton.

Other details were not immediately disclosed.

One of Braxton's four sisters is fellow singer Tony Broxton. Tamar Braxton is an alumnus of the ABC reality competition show "Dancing with the Stars" and the reality show "Braxton Family Values".

In November 2015, Tamar Braxton announced that she was withdrawing from that season's "Dancing with the Stars" competition because she had been diagnosed with a blood clot in both lungs.
