Joe Biden claims that his first victory in the US election is winning five votes in the small town of New Hampshire in Dixville Notch.

A few minutes after midnight on Tuesday, the small town near the Canadian border posted on a handwritten poster board while most Americans were in bed before the nationwide pool opened.

It marked the 60th anniversary of the tradition in November 1960 when John F. Kennedy defeated current Vice President Richard Nixon. The town gave Hillary Clinton her first victory in the 2016 election.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump won his first victory in the small town of Mill field, 12 miles to the south, wherein another traditional opening statement; the US president received 16 votes to Mr. Biden's five.

The town of Dixville Notch usually threw a large portion of food and drink when the media crawled into a small space to watch the voting.

But this year that was not possible due to the coronavirus epidemic.

"Sixty years - and unfortunately, we can't celebrate it," said Tom Tillotson, the town's moderator at Dixville Notch.

Hart Location, a third community voting in the middle of the night, traditionally suspended the current election due to concerns about the coronavirus.

He decided to vote from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The town of White Mountain began early voting in 1948 to accommodate railway workers who had to stay in work before normal voting hours.

It finally stopped in 1964 but brought it back in 1996.

These parties vote just after midnight for New Hampshire's first presidential primary in the country, which took place on February 11.

This has not been the case in Ix Dixville Notch this year, when one man left, leaving at least one of the remaining four residents to deal with election responsibilities.

This was decided when a developer working on the renovation of the now-closed Balsams The resort, where the voting tradition began, entered.

For years, voting has been held’ in a wooden pan-filled room with political memorabilia in Balsam, which closed in 2011.

Some of the items were brought’ to a former Pak school on the property, in the run-up to Tuesday's vote.
